Oxford IX: Main Conference
Lima, 5–9 January 2011
![]() |
The main conference sessions will occupy four and half days. A key feature of the Oxford conferences is that there is a single series of presentations attended by all: there are no parallel sessions. This tradition recognises the critical importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and exchange. For the same reason, the Oxford conferences have always been kept small (fewer than 150 participants) in order for arguments to be developed in depth, and to maximise interaction between participants, both in scheduled discussions and outside the conference sessions. |
Venue
The main conference will be held in a conference centre belonging to the Centro Cultural Peruano Británico (Anglo-Peruvian Cultural Centre) in Miraflores, an attractive neighbourhood of Lima which is by the coast and popular with tourists. A variety of types of accommodation, ranging from top hotels to good-quality budget hostels, is available within easy walking distance of the conference venue, as are many excellent restaurants.
Conference languages
The conference languages will be English and Spanish, with simultaneous translation being provided between the two. We also welcome contributions in Portuguese, and aim to provide simultaneous translation into English.
